Our friends at Wolf Awareness Inc. uncovered disturbing information: the government of British Columbia is killing wolves, coyotes and other predators to try and keep up the numbers of Bighorn sheep in a few ranges. What makes this even more unsettling is that their own data reports don't listen predators as a risk to the population, but very clearly states habitat loss, livestock ranching, and harassment by the public are the problems.
And to put even more pressure on the Bighorn sheep in the populations identified as vulnerable, those right next to them are allowed to be hunted! You can learn more about the ridiculousness of this policy in this Vancouver Sun article (https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/conservation-group-blasts-province-for-wolf-coyote-cull-to-protect-sheep).
Join us in calling on the government to immediately stop the killing of predators to try and boost numbers of Bighorn sheep, and instead create policy based on clear data: human interference.
